ok. lets talk about this set because i dont think people get what i mean for this, or some dont at least. i challenged myself to make a set with the same bag for all ages. it is a woman in her 20's, 30's, and 40's going out for the evening. In my mind i pictured a 20 year old who loves to go out, enjoy the night life so i added alot of color and jazz to her outfit even though her dress is black. her nails are bright fushcia, her shoes a very loud yellow and even her clutch is out there. i picked eye catching earrings too because thats who i pictured a 20 year old should dress.
For the 30 year old i got complaints that it looks too drabby or not age appropriate. i think with the right shoes and accessories it wont look like it's an oversized dress. not alot of women stay the same size when theyre in their 30's and rather cover up their 'flaws' with a beautiful dress that makes them feel pretty and comfortable. i had fun picking her accessories such as bright nails, very sophisticated but fun fushcia colored earrings, and shoes that make her legs stand out. only with shoes like that can she wear a dress like that to make them stand out.
For the 40's look, i know it's a bit young but i think i picked an appropriate color for dress, shoes and nails. jewelry too. i picked a silver dress that covered almost all of her but with a bit of skin because if there is one thing i hate, it's older women who do not dress their age. i was hoping to acheive a sophisticated/chic look for this woman. i picked subtle peices to compliment her age but i still added a bit of young flavor into her bag. it is a loud color but everything else doesnt have to be at age 40. i think i had more fun explaining than making. there are more to come because i loved making this. next is ages 15, 20 and 25. i pictured a girl, early winter morning heading out for school. that is the next set up but im still making a few touch ups on that. see you soon. xo nadiya
